According to Outsider, Passante posted a screenshot of the question and the following response in an Instagram story: “I have Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune thyroid disorder. I occasionally get a raspy throat from it.

Thyroid inflammation is a side effect of Hashimoto’s disease, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, according to the American Thyroid Association.

It can eventually lead to hyperthyroidism, which is marked by fatigue, increased sensitivity to heat, weight gain, and the voice change noted by Passante’s interrogator, even though it takes time to manifest and has no distinctive symptoms.
