“He Is Very Much Alive,” Paul Walker will return in Fast X.

The director of the upcoming Fast and Furious tenth installment has indicated how fans may expect Paul Walker’s popular character to return.

Fans were already delighted to see Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and others return for Fast X, but the trailer’s release last week heightened their excitement even further.

It also hinted at the imminent reappearance of Brian O’Conner (Walker). Sadly, the actor died in a car accident in 2013, and his final film part was a cameo in the 2013 sequel Fast & Furious 6.

Walker’s character has retired, yet despite his unfortunate death, he remains part of the blockbuster film’s high-octane action.

In addition to CGI, Walker’s real-life brothers served as body doubles to maintain the former FBI agent’s appearance on film.

Before the film’s release later this year, director Louis Leterrier has spoken out about how he hopes to incorporate Brian into the future Fast X film and reassuring fans that Brian is still “very much alive” in the Fast and Furious franchise.

“Well, Brian is very much alive in the Fast and Furious world, and they’ve teased him a lot in the past films,” he explained to TotalFilm.

“In 9, we notice the automobile approaching. It’s something that’s in the works. This film alternates between the past and the present.”

Despite choosing to place Brian firmly “in the past,” Leterrier indicated that Walker’s family continues to play an essential part in the franchise.

“You will see Brian in the past but not in the present. That is something that everyone must agree on.”

“You’ll see in this film how the Walker family is still a part of this franchise. It just has to be the appropriate time and tone.”

When Diesel’s friend and former co-star died on November 30, 2017, he paid tribute to him on Instagram.

“Nine years…,” he captioned the photo. “I love and miss you.”

In the following film, Jason Momoa and Brie Larson will make their series debuts.

The Aquaman actor will play Dante, a criminal who prefers to travel by motorcycle.

“New alliances will be formed, and old enemies will resurface. “But, everything changes when Dom realizes that his eight-year-old son is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance,” according to the film’s synopsis.

The characters state in the teaser that the ‘end of the road’ is approaching, implying that Fast X will be the first of a two-part climax to the long-running series.

Fast X is scheduled to be released on May 19th, 2023.
