It has been stated that King Charles is attempting to modify the law so that members of the royal family can hold official positions inside the government.
The spouse of the sovereign and the following four people in line of succession who are over the age of 21 are eligible for positions on the Council of State. This seat is designated for the spouse of the sovereign.
In the case that a king is temporarily unable to perform his formal duties as sovereign owing to illness or absence abroad, two or more advisors are chosen by patent to function in his stead until the monarch’s condition improves or he returns home.
Beatrice, age 34, who is scheduled to assume monarch’s duties despite being ninth in line to the throne, is among these royals. They are Prince William, the Duke of Sussex, the Duke of York, and the Duke of York.
As a result of the dramatic rearrangement, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, and Princess Beatrice would no longer serve in their current capacities as formal delegates to the king.
According to a story in The Telegraph, if there is a change in the law, King Charles may be able to raise the Earl of Wessex and Princess Royal to the position.
It is extremely unusual for state councils to be required. At the State Opening of Parliament in May, however, Princes Charles and William represented the Queen in her absence.
The position of eighth in line to the throne is now held by Prince Andrew, who was appointed to it in 1981, the year he turned 21.
However, the public’s perception of him has been substantially tarnished as a result of his associations with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom were convicted of child sex offenses.
He is relieved of his responsibilities as king.
In the meantime, Prince Harry has virtually resigned from his position as senior royal together with his wife Meghan Markle and has relocated to the United States, specifically to the city of Los Angeles, in order to begin a life of his own.
