We are all born on this Earth with a huge void in us. That void is in the form of God, but many of us do not understand this, perhaps even until we leave this life. Precisely for this reason, we try to cover that gap with various things that seem interesting: maybe alcohol, maybe lost nights, maybe excesses of various kinds. Things that not everyone does and seem more captivating, more deceptive in fact … that thank us for a short period of time, and then make us increase the amount … That’s why addictions are created, that’s why we end up not recognizing each other anymore.
When you feel marginalized, don’t rely on people to pick you up. Don’t rely on them to accept you as you are, for the simple reason that they are human. There are few who will love you exactly as you are … and you will probably learn to appreciate them much later. Rely on having a friend ready to listen to you and lift you up no matter how low you fall. That friend will not lose sight of you and has the power to help you do anything. Friendship with Him means complete freedom, from a world that lies to you that you are free to do what you want, but bury you in vices and sin. That friend is God. Appreciate this friendship, because it is holy.
God is the ideal friend who knows you better than you know yourself. He expects you to be His friend back. How do you do that? Live as He teaches you. Read what he has to say in the Bible. Your part is insignificant compared to what He has done and what He does for us daily. He gave his life to give it to us. It’s a huge gift that we can take personally … or we can ignore. It all depends on us.
For when you feel alone, know that you have the best friend in God. Accepting His friendship and listening to what He has to say means being truly free. It’s a friend who lets you choose! It doesn’t force you to do good if you don’t want to. He is waiting for you to receive Him into your heart. Don’t you want such a friend?
