Pierce Brosnan’s heartfelt Instagram tribute to a “close friend” touched his followers.

In memory of the late actor Robbie Coltrane, who passed away on October 14 at the age of 72, the James Bond actor gave some kind words and two photographs.

Pierce, 69, wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear the news of the demise of my great friend Robbie Coltrane.

“We had a lot of fun while working on the James Bond films Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough.

The second image was taken during our first day of filming at Leavesden Studios for “Goldeneye.”

“I am at a loss for who would have been a better performer and a man of humanity and humor to share the world stage with on that particular day so many years ago. I send the family my warmest condolences, prayers, love, and respect.”

After playing Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsy in the Bond films, Robbie went on to become a household name as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter movie series.

Fans responded to the message right away. “Such tragic news. One of my favorite James Bond characters was Zukovsky. Robbie did a fantastic job portraying him, and you two had an excellent working relationship. He was an excellent actor, and he would be much missed, “One penned.

Pierce is by no means the first celebrity to do so. J.K. Rowling, creator of the Harry Potter series, led the Twitter tributes, writing: “I’ll never meet another person even close to Robbie.

“He was a truly unique talent, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have known him, worked with him, and laughed uncontrollably with him. My heartfelt condolences and affection go out to his family, especially his children.”

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter, said: “Robbie was one of the funniest people I’ve ever known, and as youngsters on the set, he used to keep us all in stitches. I consider myself tremendously fortunate to have met and worked with him, and I’m devastated by his passing.”

Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in the series, expressed her “heartbreak” over Robbie’s passing.
