First speaking out since being admitted to the hospital, Jamie Foxx claims to have been through “hell and back”

Fans all over the world have been concerned about Jamie Foxx for months. The Oscar-winning actor was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital in April for unclear reasons, and he has seldom been seen since, raising concerns about his precarious condition.

But now that he is speaking up about his hospitalization for the first time, Foxx says he went through “hell and back” and thanks his fans for their support.

The 55-year-old Django Unchained actor underwent surgery on April 11. He had “experienced a medical complication,” according to his daughter Corinne, but the actor himself stayed mute for months.

Foxx finally spoke up in an Instagram video posted over the weekend. “I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me, and how it brought me back,” he remarked in response to his followers’ prayers and thoughts.

Then he gave an explanation of why he had decided to avoid the media these past few months. “I underwent a situation that I had previously believed I would never, ever experience. To be honest with you, I really didn’t want you to see me that way. I know a lot of people were waiting or hoping to hear updates.

I want you to see me laughing, enjoying myself, going out, telling jokes, acting in a movie or television show, he continued. “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes coming out of me, wondering if I was going to make it through,” the patient said.

He praised his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne for helping him preserve his secrecy over the previous few months and for saving his life.

You understand they maintained it airtight. They didn’t let anything out, according to Foxx. They shielded me, and that’s what I wish for everyone in situations like these.

An unidentified source said that the family was “preparing for the worst,” but Corinne refuted these claims. Due to Foxx’s determination to keep things hidden, there were widespread worries that his condition was significantly worse than previously thought.

Dispelling allegations that he was blind or crippled, Foxx remarked in the video, “Now, you know, by being quiet sometimes things get out of hand.

“But I did experience… I traveled to hell and back, he continued. “And there were some bumps in my road to recovery, too.”

A number of celebs expressed their support for Foxx in response to his video.

“Hello Jamie,” It was wonderful to hear you speak today and see your face, Barbra Streisand tweeted. I have been and will continue to send you a lot of love and light.

When I see you again, I’m going to bear hug the f**k out of you, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted on Instagram.

“Oh, my God! Who’s chopping the onions?” Will Smith wrote. “Love you, Foxx! Your Light Is Needed ‘n Appreciated Right Now!”

Among the stars that wrote in to wish him well were Justin Timberlake, LL Cool J, Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan, and more.

Foxx was caught in public this month after going unnoticed for several months. On a boat on the Chicago River, he was observed waving to onlookers and even helping a woman find her missing luggage.

Foxx can be seen in the recently released They Cloned Tyrone and the upcoming comedy Strays, while he hasn’t started creating movies again and skipped hosting this season of Beat Shazam. Along with that, he recently agreed to work as Corinne’s co-host on a brand-new game show.

Fans of Jamie Foxx have experienced some terrifying months, so we’re happy to see him back and doing well.
