Fans are ecstatic about ‘1000-lb Sisters’ star Tammy Slaton’s dramatic weight loss revealed in a video.

The TLC television show “1000-lb Sisters” has become a guilty pleasure for many people in the United States, as well as anyone in other countries who can watch it. It’s a show about Amy and Tammy Slaton, sisters who once weighed over 1,000 pounds together and rely on one another for support. The show depicts their struggles as morbidly obese women attempting to find their path to health and happiness.

The show “1000-lb Sisters,” like “My 600-lb Life,” has a fan base of people cheering on Amy and Tammy as they navigate weight loss and other life obstacles, particularly those related to their health. While many people have grown to adore the sisters for their sense of humor and their relationship with one another, others have expressed concern about how unmotivated the sisters appear to be at times to care for themselves and take their health situation seriously truly.

Each season depicts the difficult lives of Amy and Tammy, two overweight sisters. The two navigate their relationship as well as their personal lives, all while pursuing their individual weight loss goals.

Throughout the year, both sisters try to eat healthier and exercise more to live a happier, healthier, and longer life. Many fans, however, have observed Amy making far more progress than Tammy. Tammy, like everyone else, had had her ups and downs, most notably in 2022, when she had a major health scare that changed her entire outlook on life.

While Tammy’s family and viewers were concerned about her health issues, Tammy gave everyone reason to be optimistic about her journey in December 2022 when she uploaded a video showing her looking drastically different.

Over the years, the Slaton sisters have had a few health scares. Tammy tested positive for COVID-19 during the pandemic, according to Distractify. “I was on 15 liters of oxygen, and now I’m on three,” she said, explaining the gravity of the situation.

Throughout the television series, the sisters have had disagreements, with Tammy criticizing her sister on several occasions. According to Screenrant, “I like how (Tammy) called Amy lazy for not wanting to take care of her, and then the next sentence said she didn’t need a babysitter,” which irritated some viewers.

However, the sisters have occasionally lied about their health conditions. Amy posted a since-deleted YouTube video in April 2015 explaining that Tammy was in the hospital with Pneumonia and asking for donations to Primink for Tammy’s funeral. Their GoFundMe campaign raised approximately $1,000.

Fans were taken aback when they saw Tammy and Amy together a few days later, looking happy and eating junk food. According to Primink, the sisters said the donated money was given to their mother, but fans speculated it was spent on Amy’s trailer. The sisters stated that they would reimburse anyone who donated money, but fans claimed that their funds were never returned.

It’s clear that the Slaton sisters have had many ups and downs in their lives as they strive to create the life they want while meeting all of their personal health goals. While they lean on each other as cheerleaders in each other’s lives, like most sisters anywhere in the world, there have been times when the pair have butted heads.

Throughout the television series, the sisters have had disagreements, with Tammy criticizing Amy on several occasions. One particular instance was when the family visited an amusement park. Tammy was grumpy the entire time and only joined the rest of the family for dinner.

Tammy’s family decided to get her an electric wheelchair, but she refused to use it, claiming she preferred the mechanical one. She then expressed her suspicions that the family was only using the electric wheelchair to avoid having to push her around. Fans of the show took to social media to express their thoughts on Tammy’s irrational behavior.

“Tammy has an attitude because the electric wheelchair makes life easier for her family,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “How selfish can one person be?!”

It’s clear that the Slaton sisters have had many ups and downs in their lives as they strive to create the life they want while meeting all of their personal health goals.

Many fans have noted that Amy was making much more progress than her sister, Tammy, throughout the show’s run. Fans have been rooting for the sisters and have expressed concern when it appeared that they had strayed from their paths. According to Showbiz CheatSheet, Amy weighed around 400 pounds at the start of the reality show and has been portrayed as the “skinny sister.” She took a break from dieting when she became pregnant, but she quickly returned to it, dropping to 270 pounds.

Tammy, on the other hand, has had a difficult time losing weight. She gained weight after filming began before making the necessary changes to live a healthier lifestyle. “I just wasn’t doing what I needed to do,” Tammy explained. I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then I’m like, ‘What’s the point?'”

Tammy was seen in a 2020 video eating healthily and barely using her walker. “It feels good to be able to take care of myself and be more independent,” she said. She admitted that she still relied on Amy at times, but she has mostly been able to care for herself. According to Showbiz CheatSheet, Tammy later checked into a weight-loss facility.

Tammy, on the other hand, appeared to hit a brick wall in early 2022. Tammy admitted to “battling mental health” and depression “big time” in a clip from the Season 3 finale of “1000-lb Sisters.” Tammy’s bariatric surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith, visited her and discovered she was engaging in seriously unhealthy habits. Smith stated that she was “putting herself in grave danger” with her activities, which included partying, heavy drinking, and a newfound interest in vaping.

When Smith asked her, “Is it worse when you’re by yourself versus when people are here?” she responded, “By myself,” before adding, “That’s why I kinda felt like I needed just to take a break and not think about diets, relationships. I just want to clear my mind. Just focus on me.” Smith was visibly taken aback when he inquired how much she was drinking.

“Maybe eight bottles a week,” she said before Smith remarked, “Like fifths of liquor? Oh my goodness, Tammy. That’s quite a lot.”

While Smith agreed that Tammy had every right to prioritize her mental health, he believed she was going about it incorrectly and may even be using it as an excuse to engage in activities that only distracted her. He stated:

“She says she’s concentrating on her mental health, which, if true, I’m all for. But she hasn’t taken any steps to do it “He stated. “So, I’m a little concerned that she’s just using that as an excuse to buy her more time not to work on her activity level, make some changes in her diet, or anything else.”

He stated that her new lifestyle was “putting her in grave danger” and “raises a concern for me.”

His concerns appeared justified when Tammy later suffered a health scare that landed her in the hospital and on a ventilator. When her body began to shut down, she was also placed in an induced coma. While she eventually recovered, the terrifying experience taught her some valuable life lessons. Amy, Tammy’s sister, said the family panicked when Tammy appeared to stop breathing, prompting an emergency room visit. She “quit breathing,” and “her body shut down,” Amy said. Tammy underwent a tracheotomy in the hospital to create a hole in her throat so that a breathing tube could be inserted and she could receive emergency breathing support if necessary.

Tammy’s family expressed genuine concern in a show clip that she would “end up dead” if she didn’t get her health under control. Another video showed medical personnel yelling that her “oxygen is dropping” before rushing to her bed.

Tammy stated after her near-death experience that she would not waste the new lease on life that she had been given.

“My near-death experience has taught me not to take life for granted,” Tammy said in an interview with People. “I now live my life the way I want to, not the way others want me to. It has also softened me. I try harder not to get angry as easily and to find a way out of the situation.”

“I’m grabbing the bull by the horns and taking control of my life again and not letting my body defeat me. “I told you this wasn’t the end of me,” Tammy said cheerfully, adding, “The new and improved Tammy is on the way.”

Tammy has joined a weight-loss rehab facility in Ohio since the health scare, telling People that she is a new woman determined to change her hard-partying ways. Smith was also pleased with the news, saying that if Tammy could get her weight down to 500 pounds, she could immediately undergo weight loss surgery after finishing rehab. Smith, on the other hand, stated that she had a long way to go.

“I told you Tammy, you have real risks,” Smith said in a show clip. “If she doesn’t get the surgery, she’s going to die because of her weight,” Tammy’s brother, Chris, added.

Amid Tammy’s health problems, there was one bright spot: she met Caleb Willingham in rehab, and the couple married on November 20, 2022. Tammy was clearly excited about her new role as a wife with a husband who understood and supported her throughout her health journey.

Tammy and Willingham met while she was in rehab, and their relationship has only grown stronger since.

“Our wedding day was perfect,” Tammy told People. “I got married to my best friend.”

Willingham proposed to Tammy in October 2022. A video of the romantic proposal was shared with The Sun, which reported that the groom was instrumental in supporting the TV star during rehab. Willingham also stated that he intended to relocate to Kentucky to be closer to his new wife. Tammy was a sight to behold at the wedding ceremony, dressed in a sleeveless white gown and sparkling tiara, holding a bouquet of sunflowers and smiling from ear to ear. Willingham wore a black shirt and brown suspenders, and both the bride and groom wore breathing tubes.

Tammy appears to have made remarkable progress in the health department since her wedding. Her dramatic weight loss transformation wowed fans after she posted a TikTok video in December 2022. Tammy had lost a significant amount of weight, even though she had a filter on the video that slightly altered her face.

People were quick to share their thoughts on Tammy’s transformation, as they were pleased that she appeared to be taking good care of herself. “Tammy, you’re looking great!” one person said. “YOU LOOK SO GOOD, TAMMY!!” said another.

More fans voiced their opinions. “You look happy,” said a third. “You look amazing!” another person said.

With the fourth season of “1000-lb Sisters” set to premiere in January 2023, there’s no telling how far the Slaton sisters will have come!
