Dolly Parton reveals that Paul McCartney, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, and other musicians would appear on her rock album.

Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Pink, and Brandi Carlile will all participate on Dolly Parton’s upcoming rock album, according to the star-studded guest list she has announced.

The legendary country singer spoke about the much awaited project on Tuesday’s broadcast of “The View,” telling co-host Joy Behar: “If I’m going to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, I better do something to earn it. Therefore, I’m recording a rock ‘n’ roll album and inviting many of the rock artists I met that evening to join me on it.

Parton claimed that she and McCartney were working on a song together and that she and Nicks had finished their tune the night before. Although no official release date has been announced, Parton had previously stated that the album, named “Rock Star,” will be released sometime this year.

The album is rumored to include songs by Steve Perry and Steven Tyler as well as classic rock covers and originals.

Parton stated that the album will have “a lot of great, iconic songs like [Prince’s] “Purple Rain,” [the Rolling Stones’] “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” [Led Zeppelin’s] “Stairway to Heaven,” [and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s] “Free Bird”” in a December interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

She said to “The View” that she had been attempting to convince Mick Jagger to join her in singing on a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction,” but that “Pink and Brandi Carlile are gonna be singing on that particular song with me.” To perform alongside Parton during her October Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Pink and Carlile teamed up.

Parton had first turned down the induction, claiming that since the most of her career had been spent in country music, other performers were more deserving of the award. Nevertheless, Parton received a lot of support from voters, and she was inducted in November, which led to the release of the upcoming rock album.
