Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks Will Co-Host the ACM Awards in 2023: ‘Never Had the Chance to Work Together,’ they say.

The Academy of Country Music Awards hosts for this year have been announced.

Garth Brooks will co-host the 58th ACM Awards with Dolly Parton, which will take place on May 11 at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

Parton, 77, hosted the ceremony solo in 2000 with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett last year, while Brooks, 61, is hosting for the first time.

“I am thrilled to return to host the ACM Awards, this time with my friend Garth,” she said in a press release. “I can’t believe we’ve never had the opportunity to work together, even though I’ve enjoyed spending time with him over the years.”

Parton also said that listeners could hear new songs from her during the star-studded event, which honors country music’s best stars and burgeoning talent.

“Aside from seeing all of this great new talent in country music, I am excited to have the opportunity to premiere the lead single from my upcoming rock album on the show!” she said. Parton revealed that the album’s title, Rock Star, will be released “next fall” during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in December.

“Anyone with Dolly Parton makes a fantastic couple,” Brooks said of hosting alongside the singer.

“All I hope we do as a pair is represent [country music] well,” he told Billboard of his goals for the night. “I mean, you’ve got your foundation and what you’re looking for here,” he added, motioning to his co-host alongside him. The answer is yes. Let us do our best to portray country music.”

While the “If Tomorrow Never Comes” singer has never hosted an award event, he has plenty of experience winning them. Brooks, who announced his new Las Vegas residency in November, has 22 ACM Awards, including six for Entertainer of the Year. Parton, on the other hand, has 13 ACM Award victories.

According to the release, this year’s show’s nominees, performers, and presenters will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards will be live on Prime Video on Thursday, May 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
