Billy Joel Abruptly Cancels Show, Please Pray

Billy Joel, also known as the “Piano Man,” has announced that he will have to postpone his Madison Square Garden concert scheduled for Monday, December 19th due to an illness. The legendary singer has been performing a monthly residency at the venue, titled “Billy Joel at The Garden,” since 2014 and had previously stated that the concerts would continue “as long as the demand continues.”

In a statement on his verified Facebook page, Joel revealed the news to his fans, saying, “I’m disappointed to share that I’m under doctor’s orders for vocal rest due to a viral infection so unfortunately, I must postpone my Monday, December 19th concert at Madison Square Garden to June.”

“I’m so sorry to let you know so close to show day, but I was hoping to be closer to a full recovery by now.

Sadly, that hasn’t happened.”

The singer apologized for the last-minute postponement and expressed hope for seeing fans in the new year, saying, “I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.”

Viral infections can be caused by a variety of different viruses, including the common cold, flu, and COVID-19. They can affect people of all ages and can range in severity from mild to severe. Symptoms of a viral infection can include fever, cough, body aches, fatigue, and difficulty breathing, among others.

It is important for individuals experiencing these symptoms to seek medical attention and follow the advice of their healthcare provider in order to properly recover.

In the case of vocal rest, individuals are advised to limit their speaking and singing in order to allow their vocal cords to heal. This can be especially challenging for professional singers and performers, as it can mean having to cancel or postpone concerts and other events.

Despite the disappointment of the postponed concert, fans of Billy Joel can look forward to seeing him perform in the summer of 2023. In the meantime, it is important for the singer to prioritize his health and follow the recommendations of his healthcare provider in order to ensure a full recovery.
