Billy Corgan, Nicolas Cage, and John Travolta “There Is Heartbreak, and Then There Is Sorrow,” said Lisa Marie Presley.

The singer-songwriter died on Thursday after suffering a heart arrest.

Lisa Marie Presley, 54, died on Thursday at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, according to Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, and others.

Presley was brought to the hospital earlier in the day after collapsing in her Calabasas, California, home.

“I must communicate the heartbreaking news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother, Priscilla, wrote in a statement. “She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I’d ever met. We want privacy as we attempt to cope with this tragic loss. Thank you for your support and prayers. There will be no additional remark at this time.”

According to Riley Keough, Presley’s daughter, she will rest next to her late son Benjamin Keough at Graceland. Benjamin died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in July 2020 at 27. She was also the mother of Harper and Finley, twins.

“This is heartbreaking news,” Cage, Presley’s third husband, stated. Lisa had the most infectious laugh of anyone I’d ever met. I am heartbroken because she lit up every room. I take solace in the fact that she has been reunited with her son Benjamin.”

Presley died just days after attending the 2023 Golden Globes in support of Elvis, Baz Luhrmann’s film about her legendary father, played by Austin Butler. As a family member, Presley had given her blessing to the film and had been courteous on the awards circuit in support of the awards-buzzy production, which will be released in June.

“It was simply amazing. “I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it,” she told ET on the red carpet of the Warner Bros. picture at the Golden Globes on Jan. 10. “I needed five days to comprehend it because it was so fantastic, spot-on, and honest that I can’t even articulate what it meant.”

“We are extremely saddened by the passing of Lisa Marie Presley and express our sympathies and sympathy to her children, family, and people around the world who adored her,” Warner Bros. Pictures said in a statement. She was an excellent collaborator and a lovely person whom we will remember as a devoted mother, cherished daughter, and kind friend.”

Cary Elwes, who co-wrote 2016’s Elvis & Nixon, called her death “heartbreakingly tragic,” joining many others on social media in posting thoughts and memories. “A lovely and compassionate spirit,” he wrote. We extend our warmest sympathies to Priscilla, Riley, and her family and friends.”

“Lisa did not have an easy life, as people may believe,” friend Leah Remini said, adding that she was heartbroken and hoped she was at peace, resting with her son and father.

Billy Corgan, who worked with Presley early in her career, tweeted an impassioned statement about “heartbreak and then there is grief,” adding, “This would be sorrow on more levels than I can count.”

Juliette Lewis made a series of photos to her Instagram Story lamenting the passing of Presley, stating that she was “beyond heart shattered,” “Too much to say to feel. Processing… “My heart goes out to her family.”

“Lisa Marie Presley was not only a gifted singer-songwriter, loving wife and mother, but a friend to animals,” wrote PETA’s senior vice president after Presley’s death. When she discovered that an Elvis impersonator had named a chimp after her and was exploiting him for business, she successfully collaborated with PETA to have him freed to a sanctuary. Lisa Marie and her twin girls set a fantastic example early in the pandemic, when shelters were desperate for foster homes, by opening their homes and hearts to two dogs. Even though the ‘Lights Out’ singer has died, her bright vision for animals will continue to inspire all of us at PETA.”
