At the ACM Awards, Dolly Parton promises Garth Brooks it will be the “Best Night of Your Life.”

The 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards advertising film, which features Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks as the hosts, was unveiled on Tuesday (April 18). The 45-second ad, dubbed “First Time,” makes fun of Parton being a seasoned presenter while Brooks is hosting for the first time.

In Parton’s dressing room, the action is taking place. “Are you ready for our big night?” says Parton.

“I’m a touch anxious,” says Brooks for the first time.

Parton says, “Oh, don’t be nervous, I’m going to be right here with you,” to calm her wary companion.

“You’ve done this before, right?” asks Brooks.

Oh, I’ve done this before, says Parton in response. Many times and by many people.

Naturally, this makes Brooks even more anxious. “Really?”

“And I am going to make this the best night of your life,” Parton commits.

Brooks inquires, “We’re talking about hosting the ACM award show, right?” after a little pause.

Parton and Brooks handle the hilarious double entendres in the script expertly. Parton’s final line in the advertisement is, “If you have any problem, you just look at me.”

Yes, ma’am, says Brooks.

He is reminded “Up here,” by Parton.

The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards, labeled “country music’s Party of the Year,” will be broadcast live from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, May 11, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, exclusively for a global audience on Prime Video.

The ACM honors have been giving out honors for country music since 1966. The event created history in 2022 when, in collaboration with Prime Video, it became the first significant awards presentation to exclusively webcast.
