Amy Schumer Talks About Her Son’s Hospitalization
For the third time in her career, Amy Schumer had the privilege of hosting Saturday Night Live. Previously, she had done it on October 10, 2015, and May 12, 2018. Fans began to giggle as soon as she went out for the monologue, and it was yet another entertaining performance.
The day after the program aired on Sunday, Schumer posted on Instagram to describe a terrible incident that occurred earlier in the week. After taking her 3-year-old son to the emergency department, where he was admitted with RSV, often known as respiratory syncytial virus, she ended up missing SNL rehearsals on Thursday.
The RSV virus is rapidly sweeping the country, and children’s hospitals are overflowing with new cases. Even while an increase in instances is anticipated every year, it typically doesn’t occur until December, leaving many medical experts uncertain about the future. If it is not treated appropriately, it could be fatal.
The toughest week of my life was just past. My son was rushed to the ER and hospitalised for RSV on Thursday, so I had to skip the rehearsals.
A shout-out to all the parents who are currently going through this. Amy Schumer wrote on Instagram that she spent the entire hospital day with her baby and that he is now “home and healthier.”
Due to her endometriosis, a rare illness of the female reproductive system, Schumer underwent a cesarean section on May 5, 2019, giving birth to her three-year-old son, Gene David.
Later, in order to lessen some of the anguish brought on by the illness, she had her uterus removed. Chris Fischer and her have been wed since 2018.
Additionally, Schumer thanked the “wonderful individuals” at SNL in the Instagram post for their kindness and support as she was spending the day with her family. She expressed her gratitude to Lorne Michaels for assembling a team that was comprised of “the most amazing people with the greatest souls,” in Schumer’s words.
The performance or the show itself aren’t the real reasons this production is so much joy to put on. Spending time with the locals is the benefit.
My favorites are the crew members who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, not to mention the cast and writers, said Schumer. She most likely won’t host SNL one more time.
