Al Roker, anchor of “Today,” becomes a grandfather for the first time.

Al Roker, the “Today” weatherman, has had his first grandchild. His oldest daughter, Courtney Roker, and her husband, Wesley Laga, had their first child on Monday.

Al shared the good and joyful news with his fellow “Today” co-hosts. He stated that the mother and kid are doing well and that the entire family is overjoyed with their new addition.

The “Today” group congratulated Al, his daughter, and her husband when they tweeted the news. According to the Twitter video:

“Al Roker has grandchildren! Wesley and Courtney, his daughter, brought a girl into the world yesterday. Congrats to @alroker and his family!”

During “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb’s Morning Boost segment, the newborn girl’s name was announced. Sky Clara Laga is the baby’s name. In response to the name, “Today” journalist Sheinelle Jones exclaimed:

“That’s cute that his first grandchild’s name is Sky. How cute is that?”

Al’s coworkers not only expressed their congrats and excitement, but they also played a previous video of him stating how excited he was to become a grandfather. Courtney, a first-time mother, spoke to “Today” about her and Wesley’s pleasure at Sky’s birth.

She and her family are excited to begin this new chapter, which will document a significant turning point in their lives. They regarded their newborn as a miracle and expressed their gratitude.
