Breathtakingly Beautiful Horse Looks Like It’s Been Dipped in Gold
Horses are truly one of the most exquisite animals on the planet. One of the most beautiful horses you will ever see is this stunning golden Akhal-Teke stallion named Kambarbay.
With a breathtaking shiny perlino coat, he looks as though he was dipped in gold.
Kambarbay was bred in Estonia, but now resides in Scotland where he stands at stud.
Kambarbay displays all the qualities of the Akhal-Teke breed and competes in dressage, show jumping, and eventing. He has garnered a large fan following due to his looks and athleticism.
Originated in Turkmenistan, Akhal-Tekes are one of the oldest horse breeds and have played a role in the development of many different breeds, including the Thoroughbred.
They have elegant slender builds and are known for their sleek coats that have a metallic glow. Their coats glisten beautifully in the sun, making them a sight to behold.
There is a reason why their coats look so fine and silky. This is due to the unique hair structure of their coats. Their hair is “so fine and silky that it gives a special metallic sheen to any color,” according to the International Association of Akhal- Teke Breeding.
The hair in their coats lacks an opaque center, which is typically found in the hair shaft of most horses. This then causes light to refract and create a glowing look.
Kambarbay’s coat is a prime example of this, as his coat radiates a lovely golden appearance.
Akhal-Teke horses are known for their narrow, athletic builds. They typically stand 14-16 hands tall and weigh between 900-1,000 pounds.
Praised for their great endurance, speed, and agility, they excel in dressage, jumping, and even long-distance racing.
The Akhal-Teke is a rare breed, with fewer than 10,000 horses worldwide. Sadly, they are listed as threatened on the Conservancy’s Conservation Priority List (CPL).
They are the national horse of Turkmenistan, as they are very important to the country. You will even find them featured on banknotes and stamps in Turkmenistan.
This unique horse breed is often referred to as the “golden horses” and “horses from heaven”.
Kambarbay certainly shows why the breed is often referred to by those nicknames.
