Kamala Harris Stands Up for All Women

In a recent interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kamala Harris responded to controversial comments made by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Sanders suggested that Harris lacks humility because she doesn’t have biological children. Harris, however, firmly disagreed with this notion.

Kamala Harris Says It's 'Not the 1950s Anymore' and That Not All Women Are 'Aspiring to Be Humble'

“I don’t think she understands that there are many women out here who, first of all, are not aspiring to be humble,” Harris, 59, stated. “There are also many women who have love, family, and children in their lives.”

Harris went on to emphasize the importance of women lifting each other up and supporting one another. She proudly spoke about her own family, which she described as “very modern.” Harris shares a strong bond with her husband, Doug Emhoff, and their two children, Cole and Ella, who lovingly refer to her as “Mamala.”

The vice president also opened up about her relationship with Doug’s ex-wife, Kerstin Emhoff, and expressed her deep love for Cole and Ella. Harris demonstrated thoughtfulness by waiting to form a bond with the children until she was sure her relationship with Doug was genuine.

Harris believes that family comes in many forms and that societal norms have evolved significantly. As she put it, “this is not the 1950s anymore.” It is crucial to recognize and appreciate the diverse ways in which families are created and connected.

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to Harris’ comments, clarifying that she never intended to criticize any woman for not having children. However, Sanders maintained her position that humility is essential in our leaders. She argued that Harris’s claim of being the sole problem-solver for the nation without displaying humility is arrogant.

Kamala Harris’s steadfast support for women and her understanding of the changing dynamics of family life demonstrate her commitment to inclusivity and progress.

Let’s embrace the diverse experiences and love that exist within families, celebrating the bonds that unite us all.
