98% of our bodies are inked, making us the most tattooed OAPs worldwide.

Meet the duo who have taken home the title of “World’s Most Tattooed OAPs” four years running.

Charles Helmke, 81, and Charlotte Guttenberg, 76, of Melbourne, Florida, have spent 2,000 hours tattooing their bodies.

The pair has the Guinness World Record for the most tattooed senior persons in their respective genders. They first met in a tattoo shop in 2006 and became romantically involved.

After covering 98.75% of her body in tattoos, Charlotte, who started getting them at age 57, has declared that she has reached her limit and won’t be getting any more.

Charles, sometimes known as “Chuck,” has tattoos on 97.5% of his body.

“I think of myself as a moving gallery of art,” Charlotte told the Daily Star that I wear the art; other people buy it to hang on their walls.

She continues, “Young people think I’m cool, and their grandmothers wish they were like that.”

When Charlotte was 57 years old, her second husband, who had discouraged her from having tattoos, gave her her first tattoo as a birthday gift.

She met Chuck then; he offered to hold her hand while getting a tattoo, and a year later, they began dating.

She quickly added more ink to her body, eventually getting 216 feather tattoos, a new Guinness World Record.

Only her fingertips and head are tattoo-free. Charlotte, however, has asserted that her tattoos define neither her life nor her identity.

Chuck, in contrast, received his first tattoo when he was much younger, in 1959, at 18, while undergoing basic military training.

Chuck got two more tattoos the same day as his first, but he waited 41 years before getting another one.

He covered the third-degree burn scars on his arms with sleeves and never looked back.

The former self-defense instructor also holds the record for having the most skull tattoos on one person, with 376 skulls inked on his 6 feet 4-inch frame.

He currently has tattoos covering 97.5 percent of his 6 feet 4 inches of body, and with 376 skull tattoos, he holds the record for the most skull tattoos ever.

They said, “Because we can,” when questioned by the Independent in 2017 about why they had so many tattoos. Anyone can have as much as they want; your only restriction is your ambition.

That is entirely up to each person. We both have body costumes with Asian and spiritual themes. They are, nevertheless, significantly dissimilar. Each of our tattoos has a unique tale to tell. We both seem to have a lot to say.

Each of them has a favorite ink. Charlotte said her favorite tattoo was the first one she ever got, while Chuck said his favorite was one he got in memory of his late wife.

Due to their tattooed appearance, the couple has recently drawn unwanted attention.

However, they don’t take the criticism personally and have been able to brush it off by saying that others don’t have to look at their tattoos if they don’t like them.

Fans inspired by Charlotte and Chuck’s tattoos and needing tattoo advice have also gotten in touch with them.

They have asked that young people speak with them frequently.

The pair said it was an honor to receive their Guinness World Record in 2017.
