Nancy Sinatra shares her favorite photo of herself and her “dear friend” Elvis Presley as a tribute.

In honor of Elvis Presley’s 88th birthday, which would have been today, Nancy Sinatra recalled the fun times they had together.

The 82-year-old singer and performer celebrated the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s birthday on January 8 by tweeting a vintage image of her and an adolescent Presley laughing hysterically together. In 1977, Presley passed away at the age of 42.

On his birthday, Sinatra wrote, “I’m thinking of my dear friend and wish he were still here to celebrate with us.” My favorite image of Elvis and me is this one. It demonstrates the joy and love we shared. Oh my God, I miss him so much.”

The “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” singer, also the daughter of Frank Sinatra, a legendary musician, reflected on her enjoyment during her time with the King.

She wrote, “I wish I could remember what made us laugh so hard.”

Sinatra did not mention the location of the photo shoot, but it might have been a set from a movie. In the 1968 musical “Speedway,” in which Presley appeared as a racing car driver, she played his love interest.

When Presley returned from Germany and was discharged from the military in 1960, she welcomed him at Fort Dix in New Jersey as a 19-year-old.

Frank Sinatra took his daughter to meet Elvis Presley because it would be his first television appearance following his military service.

Also, in 2021, Nancy Sinatra discussed their connection with People in an interview.

He was the most serious man she had ever met, but she knew he was also the funniest. “He gave me such a good laugh. He would also phone me at odd night hours to talk about the ghetto and his worry for its residents.

“I don’t know if that’s surprising,” she added. “People who follow his life are probably aware of his sensitivity.”
