She sparked controversy online with the wedding dress she picked out.

Hundreds of people have criticized a model for trying to take all the attention by wearing a white dress to her friend’s wedding.

On TikTok, Lacey-Jade Christie flaunted the short white dress while also showcasing her vibrantly colored facial jewelry, nails, and accessories.

She captioned the quickly popular video, “I’m headed to a wedding, here’s my fit,” as she left for the event.

However, some were quick to voice their reservations about the gown, claiming that it was inappropriate for a wedding in terms of both style and color.

One woman asked, “Why would you allow your friend to go out looking such a mess?”

I assumed that she had put it on when she was getting dressed. Another said, “Not a nice look.”

“I’d die of shame in that… and it’s an unmitigated tragedy on all counts,” the speaker said.

Another person chimed in, “I’d be devastated if someone wore a beach cover-up to my wedding.”

Many people criticized Lacey’s choice to wear white at a wedding and told her she “should know better.”

‘WHITE!!!!!!! One woman said, “Girl, only the bride should wear white.”

You don’t dress in white at a wedding; it’s impolite. Another person chimed in, “It’s the bride’s day, not yours; she’s the one in white.”

Despite claiming that the dress was her most divisive to date and expressing shock at the barrage of criticism, Lacey stood by her choice.

She clarified that not all marriages follow the same standards and that she was doing so on this particular day.

The brides at the wedding, she continued, liked the attire and were thrilled to see their friends be themselves on the big day.

She stated, “All I’ve learned from this week is that most people are incredibly dull and have never attended a queer wedding.”

She also took the time to criticize others for making fatphobic remarks, pointing out that they said things like “she wasn’t in the room” in their comments on the post.

One harsh TikTokker wrote, “The people who have to look at you are harmed.”

Others stood up for her.

“Everyone acts like you’re going to THEIR PERSONAL wedding in the comments.” One woman wrote, “Not your wedding, not your concern.”

“I love how people desire all these unique weddings while adhering to archaic customs like guests not being allowed to wear white. You look amazing,’ a different person remarked.

Another person chimed in, “It’s also nasty to police other people’s attire for events you weren’t invited to, yet here we are.”

Both brides arrived at the ceremony dressed in long, sequined gowns, one in red and the other in navy blue.
