Worrying rumors about Morgan Freeman’s health appear, as his representative confirms the rumors.
Morgan Freeman has reportedly been forced to cancel a UK press tour for his upcoming series Special Ops: Lioness due to a “contagious infection.”
The 86-year-old actor, known for his soothing and instantly recognizable voice, has elected to remain in the United States after getting a “fever,” with doctors fearing he got a “contagious infection.”
Freeman was scheduled to attend a press event for his spy program, which also stars (and is executive produced by) fellow Hollywood actresses Zoe Saldaa and Nicole Kidman.
The two actresses attended a series of engagements in London without the Shawshank Redemption actor, including an appearance on The One Show, where host Alex Jones told the pair she was “gutted” Freeman wasn’t there.
“Morgan has a fever, and his doctor felt he had a contagious infection, so he canceled his trip,” the actor’s representative told the Daily Mail. He is presently fine.”
According to the National Institute of Health, Freeman has been battling fibromyalgia since being involved in a near-fatal accident in 2008. He frequently suffers from chronic pain and soreness throughout the body, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping.
Because of the chronic nerve damage caused by the accident, Freeman frequently wears a compression glove to alleviate his problems. He donned a stylish black one at the Oscars this year as a presenter alongside Aussie actress Margot Robbie.
Freeman’s spy thriller, based on an actual CIA program, tells the narrative of a marine (Saldaa) as she strives to manage her professional and personal life while leading the intelligence agency’s fight against terror.
Freeman will play the United States Secretary of State in the film, released on July 23.
Saldaa plays the lead marine and is also the station chief of The Lionness Program. Her primary responsibility is to train and prepare female undercover operatives to combat terrorism.
Kidman plays the CIA’s senior supervisor, responsible for preventing another 9/11.
Regarding the virus, Freeman’s agency told TMZ that the actor is getting well and is no longer contagious.
Our thoughts are with Morgan Freeman; we hope the iconic actor recovers completely.
