Jennifer Grant, Cary Grant’s daughter, denies any sexual orientation rumors.
Cary Grant was well-known for several aspects, including his handsome appearance, recognizable accent, and his versatility as an actor in comedies and dramas.
His sexuality was the subject of suspicions later in life, and those rumors persisted even after he died in 1986.
But his daughter Jennifer is clearing the air and dispelling the myths surrounding her illustrious father in a recent interview with The Guardian.
The Grant family’s lone child said Grant wasn’t flirty with men.
Before the premiere of the ITV series Archie, which is based on her father’s early years, Jennifer chatted with The Guardian.
“If you spend a lot of time with your parents, you see them in ways that virtually no one else does. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star claimed, “And I never saw a sign of that.
“Not that I would have cared, but I suppose I would have picked it up. However, I must be honest: Dad was charming and had wonderful friendships but didn’t flirt with men.
Jennifer asserted that the rumors were a product of her father’s acting and style, which ironically ran counter to his upbringing.
He was born in a family of profound poverty in Bristol, England, in 1904. His mother, who suffered from a mental disorder, disappeared when he was barely 11. He also immigrated to the United States as a theatrical performer at 16.
“Dad transformed himself in a very American, can-do way,” Jennifer remarked. The self-made man and anything like that. But at his core, he was a cultured and polished Brit, including how he ate. He cherished his cabbage and corned meat. Also, crumpets. Cornflakes!”
“A friend of mine recently sent me a photo of Gregory Peck, my father, and Mervyn LeRoy, all of whom are good friends. However, I missed that indication.
Hopefully, this would put an end to all rumors.
